Good Little Helper

Hi everybody.  Cora here!

Today my Mama can't talk, so I told her I would help out.  You know, since I am a big 17 month-old girl now.  She is sick and has lost her voice.  That means she can't really talk, but she can whisper a little.

Since she can't talk I thought I'd tell you what I've been doing.

I'm sick too, Daddy says, but not the same as Mama.  I have a "head cold".  It makes it hard to breathe, especially at night.  So I cried a lot at night and Daddy tried to make me feel better since Mama wasn't sleeping with us.  I don't like it when Mama isn't there.   But I am going to help, even if I don't feel very good.

Today is Father's Day, but we are staying home to rest.  Sad for my Daddy, I think, that we can't go do something fun.

This weekend has been weird.  I didn't like parts of it.  First I went to see the eye doctor, who put stuff in my eyes.  But it was OK, I guess, and Mama was happy since I don't need glasses.

Then, when it was bedtime we went to a hospital for a "sleep study."  First a lady put things all over me, which was OK.

But then she wrapped my head in white stuff, which I didn't like.

Then Daddy left and we went to bed.  But it was hard to sleep and I cried and was sad.  I woke up a lot and wanted to snuggle, but then when morning came we got to go home.  (On the way home I got a fun new toy, but I'll tell you about that another day.)

Daddy took all the pictures of me with his phone.  Mama says they're blurry, but I'll show you anyway.  This is me with all the sticky stuff in my hair.  I was happy to be back home.

Here's a funny picture of me with Daddy.

Anyway, I'm going to go watch some Signing Time and snuggle with Mama.  Maybe I'll help make Daddy his Father's Day breakfast too.

I'll try and keep you posted.  I hope me and Mama feel better soon.

Happy Father's Day to everybody, but especially to my Daddy and to my Grampie Phil and Grandpa Mike!

  1. Awww. Sounds like a rough weekend. We're having one of those too. I got strep last weekend when Jon's whole fam was here and Kai got a head cold. Now we all have the head cold. Never thought I'd be so happy to be coming down with a cold. It beats strep throat!
Love you. Hope you feel better soon. Miss you guys. See you in a few weeks!

  3. Why hello Miss Cora! Ellie Bellie Bear here. I am sorry that you are not feeling good and that your mommy is sick. I hate it when my mommy is sick too. Your sleep study didn't look like too much fun. I would have been grabbing at those bandages too. It certainly looks like you love your daddy. Sending you a Bearity-Bear hug!
