Down Syndrome Awareness Month- 31 for 21

Today marks the beginning of Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

Along with many others, I have once again committed to blogging daily this month to raise awareness for Down syndrome.  Hence, 31 posts for Trisomy 21.  The way life has been feeling lately, this will likely be quite a challenge for me, but if there's any cause that's worth it, it's this girl of mine.

Right now I'm coming down from the high of a weekend of celebrating our Cora with friends and family who came to town for our second Buddy Walk with the NWDSA.

Although Cora was in dire need of a nap and not ready to socialize until halfway through the walk, it was a remarkable day of inspiration and joy.  That feeling of joining together with so many others so proud of their loved ones with designer genes is hard to describe.

Joy mingled with pride and illuminated by love comes close.  Seeing all the wonderful people who have become our friends in the past 20 months sharing it with us was priceless.  Watching my family love on their favorite little girlie....  aaah.

I'm a little blissed out, in truth.

Thank you so much for all your support and to all who walked and donated.  Team Cora Bean surpassed our goal and raised over $1100.00 this year.

But now we're getting back to the day-to-day and the ins-and-outs of this little life of ours.  I'll do my best to share some of it with you.  My hopes, my concerns, my bigger-than-life love, the things that run through my head, and some glimpses at my precious little Beanie.

And click on the link below and you'll find lots of other people who are doing the same thing: blogging daily to help us all raise awareness.  You can join too, by blogging, or by reading and sharing.

Stay tuned!
